To complement the BMC's wide range of climbing festivals (Trem Fest, Gower Fest, Wilton Fest etc) Spenser Gray has organised the South Peak Limestone Festival to encourage BMC members to explore the wide array of climbing and walking offered in the area. There's an ample selection of sport and trad routes available for climbers to enjoy across the grades, some bouldering, and even a few aid routes if you are that way inclined!
South Peak Limestone Festival aims to encourage climbers to explore beyond the gritstone edges of the Peak District and the slippery walls of Horseshoe Quarry, and to show off the beauty of the area to hill walkers who may have just driven past on the way to more well-known venues. The festival starts on Friday 14 September with people meeting at the Royal Oak Pub/ Campsite in Wetton and will have the following agenda:
Friday Evening: Arrive
Saturday Morning: Head off to go climbing/ walking independently at whatever time suits you, route cards for a suggested walk around the area to the North East of Wetton will be provided on request.

Saturday 7PM: Gary Gibson will be giving a talk about his new routing activities in the area.
