Considering organising a BMC Event? You've come to the right place.
This process ensures that BMC events are properly planned, ensuring risks are mitigated and everything reasonable is done to safeguard those involved. It also ensures that the BMC knows what events are going on under its name and who is involved.
No event can run in the BMC's name until it has been approved by the BMC.
Events that receive approval will be deemed as BMC events and, as such, the BMC and volunteers will be covered by BMC insurance.
What type of events do we mean?
BMC events which must go through the event approval process include:
-
Events run by BMC Areas that have an outdoor element to them, such as crag clean-ups, walking or climbing events and festivals, etc
-
BMC youth meets
-
GB Team events
They do not include:
-
Area meetings
-
Slide shows
Event Approval
All event organisers must apply for event approval by completing the online Event Approval Application Form. All applications will be assessed by the BMC and applicants will be informed of the outcome by email. An event will only be deemed as a BMC event once it has been approved by the BMC.
