Latest online news from the Peak Area: September 2019

The September 2019 issue of the BMC Peak Area Newsletter is now online, keeping you informed about what’s happening in the region, including details of the next BMC Peak Area Meeting.

In this issue: 

  • The latest access and conservation news from Henry Folkard;
  • An invitation to attend next month’s annual Stanage Forum public meeting;
  • The latest climbing new route activity in the area, presented in Dave Parry’s signature style; and
  • The latest hill walking news, including a volunteer-led hill walk on 29 September, and information about clean-ups on 12 and 13 October on the Great Ridge and at the Roaches respectively.

Peak Area Meeting: 11 September

The next Peak Area Meeting will be on Wednesday 11 September 2019, starting at 7.30pm, at The Maynard, Grindleford, S32 2HE.

Area meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally, and to meet like-minded people and enjoy a sociable night out.

All are welcome; food will be provided by the BMC, available from 6.30pm.
