With the BMC FUNdamentals of Climbing workshops growing every year, we're on the look out for some new providers.

Launched well over a decade ago, the FUNdamentals of Climbing workshops have been instrumental in supporting climbing coaches, school teachers, award holders and volunteers in developing fundamental climbing movement skills of children and adults.

With the newly launched FUNdamentals of Climbing 3 workshop, there are now three progressive workshops delivered under the FUNdamentals brand, as well as the Physical Training for Climbing workshop.

The first two FUNdamentals workshop form part of Mountain Training's coaching scheme and the BMC has experienced a rise in demand as a result. We are currently inviting applications for providers to deliver the FUNdamentals of Climbing Workshops 1 & 2. The invitation is for people based in, and to provide workshops in, the following locations:

1. Devon or Cornwall
2. ‘North of London’: Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk or Northamptonshire*
3. Midlands: Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Gloucestershire or Northamptonshire*
4. North, West or East Yorkshire, Durham or Northumberland
5. South Wales

*Northamptonshire is on the boundary of two broad regions. A provider based there could deliver in either.

The closing date for applications is Monday 6 October and successful applicants will be contacted by Friday 24 October.

Successful applicants will be required to attend a mandatory training day at Awesome Walls Sheffield on Friday 5 December along with the current provider team, for which the BMC will cover travel expenses.

Non-attendance at the training day will result in the successful applicant not being approved to provide the workshops.

Who are we looking to select?
We are looking for the very best providers with a depth and breadth of experience, as well as a genuine passion for the development of coaching in climbing.

We are looking for people to play an active and reflective role in the delivery of the workshops in order to drive forward the standards and development of current and future workshops.
