Here's a quick rundown of some of the guidebooks in the pipeline, including the final part of the new series to the Eastern Edges, and a new set of definitive guidebooks to Peak Limestone.
Peak Limestone South
This will bethe companion guide to 2015's Peak Limestone North. It will cover the sport climbs, trad climbs and bouldering in the High Tor / Matlock area, Cromford, Dovedale, Brassington, Manifold Valley and Wolfscot Dale.
Leicester Climbs
The BMC is collaborating with Leicester Area climbers to produce a new guide to the quarries, edges and outcrops in the area. These crags are of great interest to the vast population of local climbers, from the great cities of Leicester, Nottingham and Northampton, and provide great opportunities for an evening's cragging when there's no time for a visit to the Peak District.
If you have any images you would like to contribute, know any historical or local anecdotes, or can offer your knowledge and skills in any way, please get in touch. .
Lancashire Rock
Les Ainsworth and his team are working away on the next volume of the blockbusting Lancashire guidebook. It will bring all the definitive weight of the last volume together with the style and layout of the new series of BMC guides to produce a worthy successor to the mighty Brick.
Images will be crucial to this guide, so if you climb in the area, please do your best to take good action photos and crag shots to help the cause along.
If you would like to help in any way, by providing photographs, commenting on information, route checking, or to assist in proof reading etc., then please get in touch at guides@thebmc.co.uk.
