I am very pleased that this training is being offered. I am now an old man; for most of my life I have served on committees - it is a thankless task. Most members of most clubs (not just climbing clubs) claim that they are too busy to serve on the committee; but always seem to find the time to attend the AGM and insult, denigrate and rubbish the unpaid club officers who have given up their free time to try and help the club!

Proper training for club committee members can help improve their communication, leadership, and decision-making skills, which will ultimately benefit the club and its members. An effective training program must cover various aspects such as club governance, club management, event planning, budgeting, and fundraising. These skills will not only help the club run smoothly but will also elevate the committee members' personal and professional growth. Thus, I strongly advocate for training programs for club committee members, as it provides an excellent opportunity for learning and development.
