The Climbing Lab Leeds; a new offering for climbers in Yorkshire

Posted by Rob Adie on 19/02/2016

The Climbing Lab is the newest addition to the climbing scene in Yorkshire. The space is designed to work around the climber, offering climbers of all ability an open-plan space that will challenge everyone from beginners through to seasoned boulderers.

David Long takes us through the features of the new centre. This includes an online registration system that ensures once a pass has been bought, signing in is quick and easy for members. With a dedicated area for Children and space for parents to relax it offers an inclusive approach to those starting out at a young age.

At the more experienced end and peg board and campus board offers the ability to carry out focused training sessions either before or after a hard session.

A state of the art coffee machine with coffee and barista training being provided by Maude Coffee in Leeds means that customers can relax and still enjoy the incredible space created between climbs.

The most significant feature that grabs your attention when opening is the unique top-out boulder that offers the closest thing to outdoor bouldering you can get without actually puling on rock. With initial route sets by Emma Twyford and Mike Goldthorpe, there is a huge selection of problems that will allow climbers to progress, learn, push their limits and get into some really funky positions.

To check out the centre further and get registered, either visit the Facebook page or www.climbinglab.co.uk.

Great idea. Baristabarbar offers something similar with barista training.
