Over The Moors now in stock

Posted by Niall Grimes on 15/05/2012

What with it being the hottest, driest spring since records began, you’re probably all wondering where you can go to escape the heat. So cast your eyes upwards and see the wild moorland of the Peak District shimmering in the sort of heat-haze more commonly seen in the Sahara. Kinder beckons, chinny reckon.

The timing was perfect. One advance copy of Over The Moors, the all new BMC guide to the moorland grit areas of Kinder, Bleaklow, the Chew Valley and Marsden, winged its way into the BMC office today like Noah’s dove, with a sprig of heather in its beak.

“The books are all on their way, they're just behind me,” it tweeted.

This book will blow you away. It has taken the quality established by the recent grit guides – Froggatt, Stanage, Roaches – and applied it to the most uncooperative regions in the Peak, the distant boggy moors. The photography is excellent, the crags look fantastic, the text is inspiring and the grades are – get this – accurate.

The sample Kinder Downfall chapter showcases may of the features that will make this guide well worth the wait. Visit the BMC shop to buy the book  at special BMC discount rates.
