New GB Climbing and Bouldering team website

Posted by Nick Colton on 09/03/2011

A new website, and a new discussion forum, have been launched to help promote and provide additional funding for the GB climbing and bouldering teams.

The Managers of the GB Climbing and Bouldering teams have teamed up with Outdoor Forums Limited (owners of UKBouldering and UKCaving).

They have  launched gbclimbingteam.co.uk (the official British Climbing & Bouldering Team site) and  gbindoorclimbing.co.uk an associated discussion forum devoted to indoor climbing in all its forms across the UK.

The aim of this collaboration is to help promote and provide additional funding for the GB teams and to big-up indoor and competition climbing.

Rab Carrington, BMC President comments
"This is an exciting time for indoor climbing which is now firmly established as an activity and sport in its own right. The launch of the new website in partnership with Outdoor Forums Limited will help to raise awareness not only of the talents and successes of the team but also those who work hard and volunteer to ensure the teams perform at an International level"

The UK has some of the best climbing walls in the World and creative wall owners, hold makers and setters are raising expectations of what an indoor wall can offer.

The growing popularity of indoor climbing means new walls are still going up (what recession?). There is also a thriving local and national competition scene open to beginners and wads alike.

The forums are now open - tell us what you think.
