New climbing wall in Lincoln

Lincoln's new climbing wall

Lincoln’s first indoor climbing facility is soon to be opened at the North Kesteven Centre in North Hykeham. The wall is part of the ExtremeNK project which also has a mobile climbing tower available for hire.

The wall, named ‘The Ascent’, is a converted squash court which has 13 top roped climbing lines and five lead climbable routes. There is a vast variation of graded routes to challenge climbers of all abilities. As well as vertical routes with a height of 6.5 metres, The Ascent homes two bouldering lines which enable climbers to traverse the whole length of the wall.

Exclusive hiring and casual climbing is available, as well as fully-instructed climbing sessions run by ExtremeNK at the centre. Climbing equipment is also available for hire if required.

The Ascent will be available for public use from the 6th December 2010.

For more information on The Ascent, please contact Greg Trippett, Extreme Sports Coordinator, on 01522 870252 or extremenk@leisureconnection.co.uk
