Naked charity calendar to support Edale Mountain Rescue

Posted by Alex Messenger on 07/12/2006
It's all for charidee mate.

The guys and girls from Newcastle Mountaineering Club have bared all in aid of Edale Mountain Rescue Team.

You may remember their 2006 Calendar - as featured in Summit 41- which raised money for the Make Poverty History campaign and the Marbara Project. Those calendars sold like naked cakes, so they've repeated the good deed this year, with two calendars packed full of arty climbing shots exposing the very best of the club members.

And since one of their members was rescued by Edale Mountain Rescue Team last year, they've decided to give all profits to the current Edale Operational Base Appeal. Like all other mountain rescue teams in the country, Edale MRT is made up entirely of volunteers. They are on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year. They turn out no matter how harsh the conditions are. They receive absolutely no direct government funding and rely on support and donations from the public. Last year Edale team was called out 113 times.

You can help by buying a calendar. Calendars are £9.99 including p&p. Email Caroline.Patterson@ncl.ac.uk
