International Women's Day with London Ladies Climb at The Castle

Posted by Joanna Rowbottom on 28/02/2017

International Womens Day is coming up on 8th March and the Castle Climbing Centre are holding a bouldering event with London Ladies Climb (LLC) to celebrate.

The theme for International Women’s day this year is #BeBoldForChange and the event on 8th March intends to encourage female participation in climbing, proving that it can be enjoyed by everyone. LLC hold regular events at other walls, supporting women to achieve their goals, whatever level they’re climbing at. In conjunction with #BeBoldForChange the event will bust some of those myths around climbing, promoting an inclusive climbing environment for everyone to enjoy.

Everyone will meet at the Castle for a social climb and takeover the Castle’s Instagram account for an evening. To help support and encourage more women to give climbing a go, entry fees for LLC members and friends will be significantly reduced for the evening.

If you’re not an existing member of the LLC, but would like to get involved or find out more, please email the LLC - londonladiesclimb@gmail.com or Castle Climbing Centre - amy@castle-climbing.co.uk

To attend the event, you will be required to register at the Centre for bouldering only. You can speed things up by doing this online before the event. Please ensure you watch the boulder induction video before completing your online registration.

Entry Prices
- All LLC members enter for £7 (usual wall entry £12.50) making the event a bargain.
- There's also free entry for all LLC members bringing a non-member, they will need to pay one entry fee of £7, so you can split the cost. Visit the LLC
event page for details of vouchers and discounted entry for members and their friends.

It looks like it's going to be a great opportunity to show your support for International Womens Day, and meet some new climbing buddy's and we're looking forward to hearing all about it.
