The following pictures illustrate how to thread the new lower-offs recently installed by the BMC on six routes on Main Wall at Horseshoe Quarry.
This type of equipment is popular in parts of the USA and Europe where climbers appreciate its robust construction, relative ease of use and contribution towards sustainable bolting. As far as BMC is aware, this type of unit has not been placed in the UK before, and we would be keen to receive your feedback.

Pic. 2 - the leaders end of the rope is threaded around 1 'horn' of the unit.

Pic. 3 - the 2nd horn of the unit is threaded - you are now ready to descend.
