Dodge the driving and join the good people of the West Bromwich Mountaineering Club on a coach trip to the Lake District this Sunday.
Based in the Midlands and fancy roaming over the Helvellyn massif or the fells around Grasmere this weekend, but can’t or don’t want to drive?
The West Bromwich Mountaineering Club’s next coach trip could be your ticket. Simply show up in the morning, board the coach, enjoy a day of walking in the Lake District in the congenial company of like-minded people, and be returned to the Black Country the same day.
A coach will depart from the car park on Edward Street in West Bromwich (postcode B70 8HU) at 7am, with a further pick-up point at Penkridge at 7.20am.
The coach is bound for Grasmere, but will stop at four drop-off points: Threlkeld, Thirlmere, the Traveller’s Rest and finally Grasmere. This gives the option of a linear walk from any of the first three places to Grasmere, for example by taking in the fells of the Helvellyn massif on the way.
Pick up will be later in the day at Grasmere, with the coach heading straight from there back to West Bromwich, arriving back at about 9.30pm.
Everyone is welcome. The trip costs £22 for guests (under 16s and full time students £8.00).
To book, contact coach secretary Nigel Tarr on 07703 345729 or by email.
The club requests anyone under 16 is accompanied by an adult.
