The English Bouldering Championships is the first National Boulder Competition of 2022.
Taking place on the weekend of 26 & 27 March at Rock Over Climbing, Manchester. This competition will be part of the new National Bouldering Series.
The series will include four bouldering rounds taking place across the four nations; England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. You can enter an individual round or you can enter all four rounds and be crowned series champion.
Categories: Youth A, B, C, D and Senior (16 upwards, including if you turn 16 in the year of the competition)
Registration opens at 8am 28 February 2022 and closes at Midday on 21 March 2022
Saturday 26 March - Youth C & Senior Categories
Sunday 27 March - Youth A, B and D Categories
Each category will compete on one day only.
Format:
Eight bloc scramble format with 2.5 hours to attempt all blocs. There is a maximum of five attempts on each bloc.
Top 6 in each category will proceed to the final.

Entry;
Fee: £35
All competitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by one parent/guardian only, but loco parentis can be used where required. If a parent/guardian, spectator or coach volunteers to assist in the running of the competition on the day, this will be in addition to the accompanying adult.
Late entries will not be accepted.
To enter you must complete our online booking form, with successful payment, by the entry deadline. Forms without payment will NOT be accepted.
All competitors MUST be a current member of the BMC, Mountaineering Scotland or Mountaineering Ireland to enter.
If you haven’t used the online booking system before, then you will need to create an account to log in.

Early Registration is open to all categories on Friday 25 March 2022 from 4-8pm,
Warm up is available from 7:30am on both Saturday and Sunday.

Youth C Qualification: 8:30am -11am
Senior Qualification: 11:15am-13:45
Youth C Isolation Opens: 13:00 and closes 13:30.
Youth C Finals start at 14:00
Senior Isolation Opens: 15:15 and closes 15:45
Senior Finals start at 16:00
Sunday 27 March:
Registration: Sunday 27 March, 7:30-12pm
Youth D Qualification: 8:30am-11am
Youth B Qualification: 10:00am-12:30pm
Youth A Qualification: 12:00pm- 14:30
Youth D Isolation Opens: 13:00 and closes at 13:30
Youth D Finals start at 14:00
Youth B Isolation Opens: 14:30 and closes 15:00
Youth B Finals start at 15:45
Youth A Isolation Opens: 16:00 and closes at 16:30
Youth A Finals start at 17:00
Due to the high entry numbers, we require 6 more volunteers on Saturday and 24 on Sunday, if you are able to volunteer to judge, please email zoe@thebmc.co.uk
There is limited parking at Rockover Climbing Centre, please bear this in mind when planning your journey, there are numerous car parks close by.
Cancellation policy
If you cancel less than five business days before the competition - you will not be entitled to a refund.
If you cancel more than five business days before the competition - you will receive a 50% refund.
If the competition is cancelled due to an unforeseen circumstance - you will be entitled to a full refund.
