To meet the regulations from both the UK and Welsh governments there will need to be some changes in the way that clubs organise and deliver their meets for the foreseeable future.
The information provided below is accurate at the point that it was produced, but the governments (for England, Wales and elsewhere) often announce changes at short notice. We will endeavour to keep this page updated, and will add more content as needed.
Outdoor meets
The BMC has produced guidance to assist you in taking the steps that you need to take to comply with the new covid19 regulations in both England and Wales.
The guidance can be downloaded here
A Word document of the appendices can be downloaded here
Club meets may only restart once the government allows groups to meet in the outdoors - Check out this article with the latest position for club meets and huts access across England and Wales.
Indoor meets
The potential for running indoor meets, whether at a climbing wall or other social venue such as a café or pub, will depend on the restrictions for both the area where the member(s) resides and the location of the facility. Check out this article with the latest position for club meets and huts access across England and Wales.
Indoor meets at climbing walls are limited by the systems each climbing wall has put in place. It is advisable for each club to speaks with the staff at their local climbing wall to ascertain the options available for them.

Overnight meets
The potential for running overnight meets, whether at a club hut, bunkhouse, hostel or campsite, will depend on the restrictions for both the area where the member(s) resides and the location of the facility. Check out this article with the latest position for club meets and huts access across England and Wales
Many club-run mountain huts, when open, are only allowing use by its members while covid19 restrictions are in place.
Many bunkhouses and hostels, when open, only have limited capacity and limited facilities. The situation varies so it is always best to investigate before committing to a specific location.
Many campsites, when open, have limitations to the facilities that are available. Some campsites have introduced limits on groups, and some don't allow them at all, and most campsites require pre-booking. It is best to check with the campsite before committing to a specific location.
