The Bristol Inclusive Climbing Festival (BIC fest): a two day event to showcase the accessibility and availability of climbing for people who are deaf, disabled or who find access to adventure sports challenging.
Where: BIC fest will be hosted at The Climbing Academy and Redpoint Climbing Centre.
When: Thursday 28 August, 12 - 8pm, The Climbing Academy
Friday 29 August, 12 - 8pm, Redpoint Climbing Centre
Cost: the festival is free to all participants, and people have the choice of attending one or both days.
The days will include free tasters and tours, stands from organisations such as iDID Adventure and Access Sport as well as Climbers Against Cancer. There will also be guest speakers and representatives from the BMC on hand to motivate and inspire visitors.
Although it’s early days BIC fest has received great support from sponsors such as Access Bristol, and iDID Adventure; who are helping to make the day as successful as possible.
Paraclimbing in the UK, and indeed across the globe, has seen great achievements recently. TCA and Redpoint hope that in demonstrating how adaptive climbing can be people will be inspired to try out the sport for themselves and get involved in the ever growing community.
