The atmosphere was buzzing at the NEC in Birmingham this weekend as over 70 boulderers battled it out in The North Face UIAA-ICC Bouldering World Cup at the Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show (17-19 March).
The competition proved no problem for Jérôme Meyer of France who took first place in the men’s event and Olga Bibik of Russia who came top in the women’s event. Andy Earl, the current British Champion, put on a great performance to finish in 6th place in Sunday's final. Four Brits made it to the semi finals, with Kate Mills taking Britain’s women into the semi finals for the first time. You can check out the full results and pictures of the action here.
DVDs of the competition are availble to order from the BMC. The BMC hosted the competition at the biggest annual gathering of outdoor enthusiasts, where visitors to the BMCs Climb 06 area joined in climbing activities and chilled out at the Rock cafe.
