Scott Titt - the new BMC President - was recently snapped hanging out in Downing Street with Leo Houlding and Terry Pratchett.
Scott was summoned to the most famous door in the country for a launch meeting of the GREAT campaign, chaired by David Hempleman-Adams.
The GREAT campaign is a £37m Foreign and Commonwealth Office initiative, designed to use the platform of the 2012 Games to showcase Britain’s capabilities, to promote and enhance our reputation abroad and to maximise the economic potential of the Games.
"It is not something that I think will be relevant to the BMC, but you have to go along to find out," explained Scott.
"I briefly met Chris Bonington and Mick Fowler (who with Leo Houlding) have been asked to be Ambassadors for mountaineering with the campaign.
"It is always exciting to be invited to No 10, to walk past the tourist throng and be admitted to the most famous door in England. It was a pleasure to meet Sir Chris and Mick Fowler in Downing Street and as I left, Terry Pratchett was in the queue to get in!"
This was just one part of the varied work of the BMC President. Also this week, Scott donned his walking gear for a hill walk with the Shadow Environment Minister, together with BMC Access Officer Cath Flitcroft and BMC Press Officer Ed Douglas.
