BMC Hut survey for clubs 2016

Posted by Daniel Middleton on 22/05/2016
How is your hut doing?

We've put together a survey which we'd like you to complete if you manage a hut for your club. This information will be useful to help the BMC direct help and resources where most needed in the future.

Why are the BMC running this survey?

The objective of this survey is to get a better overall picture about club huts, so that the BMC can direct future support where it is needed most. Anecdotally, we know that some clubs are struggling with the financial burden of an under-used hut, whereas others are thriving with a hut proving to be a major asset. We’d like to find out what problems there are, how we can help solve them, and discover and share the ways in which clubs have made a success of their huts.

How do I complete the survey?

The survey is online, click on the link below to find it. If your club has more than one hut, please complete a survey for each one individually. You may need to consult with club colleagues including your treasurer for some of the data. We know how valuable volunteer's time is, so although the survey is rather comprehensive, questions are optional in recognition that some info may be too much work to obtain readily. So, fill in what you can. We'll keep the survey open until the end of August so there's plenty of time.

Who will see the survey results?

Individual hut information will be kept strictly confidential within the BMC Hut Group. Statistical data such as average occupancy may be shared publically. Individual hut details might be useful for case studies at future seminars, in which case we’d always ask for permission first to use any data for this.
