Interested in how the BMC is run? Want to know what your new National Council will look like? Keen to have a say on proposed amendments to the BMC’s articles of association? Want to get a resolution in front of your fellow members at the AGM? Then we’ve got just the things for you!
As mentioned in the statement from the BMC Chair, President and CEO on 18 March 2020, we’re determined to maintain a high standard of governance in these exceptional times, and we want you to be part of this.
How the BMC is run
We’re holding a webinar on 2 April at 6.30pm, the purpose of which is for a couple of working groups to present their conclusions and allow you as members to ask questions about the proposed changes to various governance structures of the BMC.
Over the past few months, these working groups have been meeting and looking into a number of governance issues within the BMC:
-
R33 – formed at the end of 2018 to work on ORG recommendation 33 “National Council should be restructured and become the Members’ Assembly and its role defined”. New terms of reference are being prepared for what will be called the Members’ Council.
-
Workstream 5 Articles of Association – formed at the end of 2019, its remit is to amend the articles of association to take into account the new Members’ Council and any other items that have come to light as part of the ODG.
If you want to take part in the webinar, on 2 April at 6.30pm, please book a place as spaces are limited. To book a place follow this link and register. Details of how to dial in will be emailed to you once you have registered.
Resolution at the AGM
We’ve also been busy working on a guide of how you as a member can get a resolution proposed at this year’s AGM, this can be found on our website.
