The Beacon Climbing Centre, which is located in Ceunant, near Llanberis has won a Gwynedd Business Award.
The centre won the Business of the Year Award for businesses with a turnover of less than £1 million, in recognition of overall outstanding achievement in business performance. It was also highly commended in the Creative Industries Award, for companies operating in industries which have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent.
Director Gill Lovick, who received the award on behalf of The Beacon said "We were honoured to have been shortlisted in two categories of the business awards, and it's great to have recognition for our work. We provide a valuable service to many locals, including all the kids in our kids clubs and the local schools, and we are also an important activity tourism venue open all through the year. Our manufacturing branch is growing at a rapid rate at the moment, with plenty of wallbuilding contracts throughout Britain. “
All the winners of the second annual Gwynedd Business Awards were announced at a high profile Gala Dinner held at the Celtic Royal Hotel, in Caernarfon. The judges, who had a difficult task choosing a winner in each of the twelve categories, commented that the high quality of entries reflected favourably on the county’s business sector and augured well for future prosperity.
