Contenders of the BBCs 2021

With two-years' worth of quarantraining under their belts, our homegrown athletes will be holding nothing back this weekend. We can't wait to see who takes home the gold medal, will reigning champions Nathan Phillips and Holly Toothill stand on top of the podium again? Let's have a look at a few of this year's contenders:

Women:

Holly Toothill
The reigning champ from the BBCs 2019, Holly’s calm and confident approach means she’s a firm favourite to take the top spot again.

Jennifer Wood
Training machine Jen narrowly missed out on the win to come 3rd in 2019, can she pull it off this year?

Frances Bensley
The outdoor crimp machine with multiple ticks of 8B will bring her steely fingers to the matts in Sheffield.

Emily Phillips
This strong contender from the GB Climbing team is one of those other competitors will have to keep an eye on!

Leanora Volpe
We’re psyched to watch Leanora who is just one of the GB Paraclimbing team members that is bringing it to the BBCs.

Maya Patel
From the GB Development Squad, Maya is a young gun looking to make her mark.

Men:

Nathan Phillips
Casual crusher Nathan won the last two BBCs with relative ease, will he make it a hat-trick?

Max Milne
Fresh back from his first ever IFSC World Cup final, Max the Future is focused on making the podium this year.

Toby Roberts
The European Youth Boulder Champion 2019 is on the hunt for a medal.

Louis Parkinson
Is he still Captain Cutloose? Or has the founder of Catalyst Climbing finally found his feet?

Alex Waterhouse
He narrowly missed out on finals in 2019, but Alex now has the experience of competing on the world stage to draw on.

Matt Cousins
London’s finest and former champ Matt is back after a spate of injuries and is looking to prove he’s returned to full fitness.
