After the success of last year’s events, the Association of British Climbing Walls is pleased to announce the first event for 2016, to be held at Bloc Climbing in Bristol on 28 April. Booking is now open.
These one-day workshops are aimed at anyone working in a climbing wall who wants to keep up to date with current best practice and emerging trends; they also offer an excellent opportunity to meet not just ABC representatives but also fellow wall operators and key members of the indoor climbing sector.
There is a choice of four great sessions plus 1:1 break-out sessions.
The program for the day includes:
-
an introduction to AED's (defibs)
-
analysis of the Accident Reporting database - lessons learned & preventative measures
-
what NICAS & NIBAS can do for your wall
-
a 'Gear Myths' busting session; and
-
for the first time, 1:1 break out sessions with the ABC Officer.
As ever with these events we’ve made sure to add coffee breaks, lunch and a group session at the end of the day so that you can get the chance to meet, talk with and learn from other wall operators, staff and ABC members.
Please note – if you wish to book more than one person onto different sessions then you need to book each ticket separately. If you have any questions, email Kelvyn on kelvyn@abcwalls.co.uk
Attendance at these events is open to any wall - full details can be found on the ABC website
We want to say a big thanks to every BMC member who continues to support us through the Coronavirus crisis.
From weekly Facebook Lives and GB Climbing home training videos, to our access team working to re-open the crags and fight for your mountain access, we couldn’t do it without you.
Did you know that we've launched a U27 membership offer for just £1.50 / month? And with full membership from £2.50 / month, it's never been easier to join and support our work:
