Alpine Essentials DVD ready to roll

Posted by on 22/03/2006

Following the success of the Winter Essentials DVD, the BMC and the Mountaineering Council of Scotland are joining forces once again this summer to film Alpine Essentials.

Filming will take place in July and August in and around Saas Grund – so if you’re at the BMC Alpine Meet  you may even get a starring role! The Alpine Essentials DVD will bring together essential skills and techniques required for summer Alpine climbing. Although filming will take place in the European Alps, the skills are transferable for those who wish to summer climb both in the Europe and further afield. The Catherine Smith Memorial Trust, the Ceinwen Faulkner Memorial Trust and the Jonathan Conville Memorial Trust have all given their generous support to make this film possible. The film will be written and directed by BMC Training Officer Jon Garside and MCoS Mountain Safety Officer Roger Wild and produced by Slackjaw Productions.

Alpine Essentials will be ready to view in late autumn. In the meantime, anyone who wants to get their hands on the Winter Essentials DVD can visit the online shop.
