The BMC is offering a series of free workshops for students involved in climbing, hill walking or mountaineering clubs.

Webinar Workshops and Dates:
Risk, Responsibilty and Preparation
30th March, 19.00pm. This will look at managing risk and key preparations for running climbing and walking events. James Mchaffie will be leading this session.

Intro to teaching novices hill walking skills
31st March, 19.00pm. This will cover equipment to take and offer ideas about teaching navigation, focusing on OS maps and compasses. Anthony Eccles will be leading this session.
Care and Maintenance of Equipment
6th April, 19.00pm. This will familiarise student with logging methods, look at equipment inspections and discuss choice of suitable pooled equipment. Dan Middleton, BMC Technical Officer will be leading this workshop.

Intro to teaching novices climbing
12th April, 19.00pm. This workshop will look at how to safely structure the teaching of climbing skills to newbies and hazards to watch out for. Esther Foster will be leading this session.

How to teach belaying
13th April, 19.00pm. This session will look at key insights from the BMCs Belaying Working Group which was set up as a result from a belaying accident in a student club. Jon Garside, BMC Mountain Training Officer will deliver this session.

Incident Management
20th April,19.00pm. This will look at what to do if a member of your party injures themselves. From when to call the rescue team, group shelters and other key equipment. Chris Wood will be leading this session.
