Participants enjoyed a weekend of lectures, discussions and practical workshops, organised by The BMC, Mountain Training and the Mosaic Network.
In its second year, the event was staged at Losehill YHA in Castleton in May 2015. In the heart of the Peak District, this venue allowed participants to walk straight out onto the hills whilst taking part in leadership workshops.
Over the weekend lectures and discussions covered a wide range of issues relating to leadership in the outdoors and promoting outdoor activities with Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities.
The weekend was rounded off with a climb at Stanage, with many participants enjoying their first experience of the gritstone that the Peak is famous for.
The BMC would like to thank all of those who gave up their time to make the event a success.
Mountain Training provides grants to cover the cost of training for future leaders from BME communities. More information is available here
