Wye Valley fencing

Posted by on 16/08/2002

There are some new access issues in the Wye Valley (the Chepstow one!) that affect Fly Wall…

Woodcroft Quarry in the Wye Valley has been brought by a company who are seeking planning permission for a sports and leisure centre. Despite reassurances that they would not inhibit climbing access in June, they have now been told by their insurance company that they must fence off the quarry. They plan to fence the entrance to Woodcroft Quarry from the Offa’s Dyke footpath. Access to Fly Wall will still be possible form the Easy Way Down. Damage to the fence could lead to a manned security guard on site and no access for climbing.
