There were some great performances from the British competitors in Sydney at the IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships 2008. Three of our six semi-finalists qualified for the finals and Jonathan Stocking just missed out on a medal.
There were also top ten finishes for Natalie Berry, Shauna Coxsey and Luke Tilley, in the Championships which ran from 28 to 30 August.

In the lead climbing events Austria was the most successful nation, picking up three gold medals; Japan won two, and the Czech Republic one. Russia dominated the speed climbing events, winning four of the six gold medals; Venezuela and the USA won one each.
