World Youth Championships 2006 - Natalie Berry takes 4th place!

Posted by on 26/08/2006

The World Youth Championships are being held at Imst in Austria. There are some incredibly good young climbers taking part including a strong British contingent: Bethany Monks, Katy Whittaker, Martin Watson, Joe Wilson, Jemma Powell, Tony Musselbrook, Peter Johnstone, Robert MacKenzie and Natalie Berry.

After two intial qualification rounds best placed British climbers were Natalie Berry who was 8th in the Female B category and Robert MacKenzie who was 14th in the Male B category.  As a result both Natalie and Robert went through to the semi-finals.  There, Robert finished an excellent 16th. Natalie gained an outstanding 2nd-equal position with a score of 35+ and made the final in 3rd place overall on countback.

In the final Natalie finished 4th.  A fantastic result.  Congratulations to Natalie and all those who took part from everyone at the BMC! - current results and rankings.
