A thank you message from BMC President Andy Syme to celebrate Volunteers Week 2022.
As I have became more involved in the BMC it was increasingly clear that Volunteers are the lifeblood of the BMC, delivering the majority of the key services that members value. Since becoming President this perception became even clearer; we could not deliver without volunteers. From those of you participating in occasional crag clean-ups, through volunteers organising walks and festivals, to the members who support the BMC almost every day; as Area Officers, on the various BMC Committees and as Access Reps; every single one of you is a critical part of the BMC remaining representative and visible. I remain in awe of the enormous effort you contribute and thank you all on behalf of the members and community.
As a small token of our thanks the BMC are holding a Volunteer Gala on 8-9 Oct (at no cost to attendees) where we will provide some training for those who want it, the opportunity to hear about the work of our specialist committees and a celebratory dinner. Please register using
Survey Monkey.
