It was a successful night for Kendal’s Lakeland Climbing Centre at the 2012 Awards Ceremony of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, which was held on Tuesday 22 May in Leicester.
Less than a year after a major expansion of the Centre’s facilities, Kate Phillips, Managing Director, and her team, received a Silver Award in the Small Visitor Attraction category.
Speaking on behalf of the Lakeland Climbing Centre, Kate Phillips said “We were delighted to make it to the finals of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2012, but to receive a Silver Award is fantastic! We are proud to be the first climbing centre to be recognised as a quality tourist attraction as well as an elite sporting venue. This award is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work that staff have put in at the Centre over the past few years to improve our facilities and especially our customer service.”
