Results: IFSC Bouldering World Cup Eidhoven

The IFSC Bouldering World Cup this weekend was at Eidhoven in the Netherlands and the British Bouldering Team put in some fantastic performances.

Qualifiers
The qualification rounds went very well for the British Team with three making it through to the Semi Finals.

Stew Watson (7th) and Dave Barrans (9th) qualified in the men’s along with Diane Merrick (19th) who qualified for her first semi final of this season.

Semi-Finals
In the Semi Finals, a strong performance from Dave Barrans ensured he was through to the finals while Stewart Watson just missed out and finished in 7th place, top six in the Semi’s qualify, Diane Merrick finished overall in a very well deserved 15th place!

Finals
In the finals Dave got off to a fantastic start topping his first two bloc’s and was looking good for a top three spot however, the final two bloc’s threw the finals wide open and Dave finished in very well deserved 5th place.

Other team members that just missed out were Ned Feehally (23rd) and Jon Partridge (41) in the mens and Mina Leslie-Wujastyk (32nd) in the womens.

Ranking
Overall the British team finished 4th in the Team Ranking which is their best Team Ranking at a comp outside of Britain,....ever!

The next, and 6th round of the IFSC Boulder World Cup is being held at the Cliffhanger event at Millhouses Park, Sheffield, UK, next Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th of July.  More details on this event are here.
