Cressida Allwood reveals an adventurous past of biking and mountaineering around the globe in The Outdoors Adventure Podcast

Enjoy this highly entertaining listen from BMC Partnerships Manager and Mountain Leader Cressida Allwood as she chats to host Robert Darfi from The Outdoors Adventure Podcast. During this chat Cress (as we call her!), having come from a hockey-playing and teaching background reveals her joy of helping others push their comfort zones in the outdoor world and an exciting past of biking and mountaineering expeditions all over the world.

She speaks candidly about challenges and set backs as well as highlights and successes of expedition leading with Raleigh International and travelling for a couple of years around Nepal, Pakistan (and many ‘Stans!), Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and South America. She covers camping, biking and mountaineering kit and logistics, juggling finances while abroad, being a solo female cyclist, exciting remote helicopter drop offs in the jungle and someone accidentally slashing their leg open with a machete.

“It was really good to be on The Outdoors Adventure Podcast and share the highs and lows of my globe-trotting past with Rob,” says Cress, “and importantly it was great that we chatted about what the BMC is and the vital inclusion, conservation and access work we do as an organisation to an audience that may not have previously heard of us. Hopefully this will encourage some new volunteers and members for the BMC.”

The Outdoors Adventure Podcast from Robert Darfi is packed full of exciting content from the world of the outdoors adventurer to provide you with all the inspiration you need to get outdoors, and keep you sane if youre unable to. There are news stories, events, gear reviews, trip reports and interviews with guests like Cress. From the hiking and geocaching in the Scottish highlands to climbing and camping in Dartmoor and everything in between, this podcast is an invaluable source of inspiration and information for the outdoor adventure-lovers.
