Nick Bullock in the Midlands - not for the squeamish.

Bullock vs. Gogarth: no contest!

Nick Bullock, a name familiar to many via his assorted climbing exploits around the world, will be landing at the BMC's Midlands Area meeting in Hinckley on Tuesday 21st November.

Nick has decided to call his show something along the lines of "Extreme Optimism (aka The Third Year on the Road)"

Year three comes good..."Cracking Up" IX/9, "Travesty" VIII/8, both in Wales, both first winter ascents; "Avenging Angel" VII/8 a first ascent on Ben Nevis; all this mixed with Tales of Mayhem and Monster Lobs at Gogarth.

The assembled hordes on the evening could well be the first in the world to find out what he's been up to recently. The meeting starts at 7.30pm at The Railway Hotel (map and agenda elsewhere on this website under 'Local Area Meetings') and those who make themselves comfortable there will be able to take advantage of the food and refreshments laid on specially.

In trying to find out a little more about Nick prior to posting this I could only discover that he seems to exist on a diet of strong coffee, a mountain of bread and a load of red wine. His climbing style (and maybe outlook on life) is best summed up by his new route in the Andes: "Death or Glory" another first ascent TD/ED. Enough said, I suspect.
