The latest map in the award-winning British Mountain Map series covers Britain’s last wilderness in detail.
Knoydart is a haven for walkers, climbers and outdoor enthusiasts, home to 43 Munros and 21 Corbetts (including Ladhar Bheinn and the Five Sisters of Kintail), as well as the Falls of Glomach, one of the highest waterfalls in the UK.
Designed especially for climbers and hill walkers, this new 1:40,000 scale map has been produced by Harvey Maps in association with the BMC and the Mountaineering Council of Scotland. It uses contour colour shading for easy identification of hills and valleys, and is printed on polyethylene to make it lightweight, tear-resistant and waterproof. The reverse side of the map contains mountain incident and first aid advice, navigation tips, useful visitor information, and geological information provided by the British Geological Survey.
“Clarity is the hallmark of this map. It covers magnifcently honed peaks set above western seas and lochs, inviting exploration of one of Scotland’s superlative and remote mountain regions.”
Irvine Butterfield, author of ‘The High Mountains’ and ‘The Magic of the Munros’.
