If you want to know more about Mountain Rescue then watch our short online film.
Taken from the Hill Walking Essentials DVD this film outlines the essential work of our volunteer led Mountain Rescue Organisations which operate on a 24/7 basis throughout the year.
Mountain Rescue Film
The film gives a clear insight into the sort of incidents that teams regularly deal with and perhaps more importantly how incidents can be avoided in the first place.
In busy Mountain areas like North Wales, the Peak District, the Lake District or Glencoe, the Mountain Rescue teams deal with many hundreds of incidents each year so knowing what sort of things can go very wrong is important.
Thankfully, most incidents are relatively minor but even these can be time consuming and potentially become more serious if they are not dealt with effectively. If you are unfortunate enough to be involved in incident, or just happen to come across one on the hills, knowing what to do can be an absolute lifesaver!
If you’re serious about going on the hills and crags, or even just an occasional visitor watching this short film might just make a difference one day.
