Students and non-students alike enjoyed crisp winter conditions in Scotland last weekend.
With cold, wintery conditions hanging around for the weekend members from both clubs were out walking and climbing, bagging classics such as the Aonach Eagach traverse in Glen Coe and Point Five Gully on Ben Nevis. As with all meets, the social aspect was equally important, with tall stories swapped over a shared meal in the full-to-bursting club hut on Saturday night.
The Joint meet was part of a continuing series of events that it is hoped will welcome more young people into the Rucksack Club. Under a new scheme put together by the Rucksack Clubs outgoing president all members of the Manchester University Mountaineering Club automatically become associate members of the Rucksack Club, and are welcomed on meets and invited to use club huts.
