The Incident Management Seminar, now in its second year, is an event run by the University of Manchester Hiking club, in association with the British Mountaineering Council and University of Manchester Students' Union, aimed at bringing together good practice and practical skills for those who venture into the mountains.
Last year the event involved lectures and practical seminars alongside time to network and meet others from both student and non-student clubs
Topics covered include:
* Preparation for your time on the hill
* Key skills and how to acquire them
* Assessing risk
* Outdoor hazards and good practice
* Coping with the unexpected in the outdoors
Venue and Date
The seminar will be held in the Council Chambers, The University of Manchester on the 11th of April, from 11am to 5pm.
Cost and Bookings
Tickets cost £5 or £2.50 for concessions and should be booked in advance from Manchester Students' Union.
Travel
