The Public Weather Service Customer Group – an arm of the Met Office - is carrying out a review of its mountain weather service.
The aim of the consultation is to better understand and prioritise the needs of the people who spend time in the hills. As part of the review, the PWSCG is asking climbers and walkers to participate in a survey. To input your views please complete the questionnaire here. Questionnaires should be returned to PWSCG by 31 August to be in with a chance of winning a trip to the Met Office headquarters in Exeter.
In other weather watch news, we hear that in the coming weeks the other weather service for mountaineers - the Mountain Weather Information Service (MWIS) - will be extending its service to provide a click-able area map to select the correct forecast, the ability to read the latest forecasts online and access via Internet enabled mobiles and PDAs. Check out the new MWIS website here.
