Check Your Knot!

Signs available free to climbing walls

The latest addition to the on-going BMC safety awareness campaigns are the "check your knot" signs for climbing walls.

Ever got halfway up a climbing wall and realised you haven’t tied in properly? Heard some of the horror stories about climbers hitting the deck due to not tying in properly?

Well hopefully the new little "check your knot!" signs may help to remind climbers to do just that before they get high enough off the ground for it to be an issue. The distinctive signs are available free to all walls, and are designed to be placed (screws for plywood walls or a bolt for other wall types) at the height of the first bolt.

The BMC Safety Campaign includes information points at climbing walls, Climbing Outside - a free pdf download, and a set of three posters illustrated by Ray Eckermann of smallmountains.

Visit the BMC Shop to order your FREE signs and posters.
