We've got Christmas covered with our funky new women's clothing range with unique designs from acclaimed artist Tessa Lyons. All available in time for Christmas from the BMC Shop.

Like gear? You’ll love being able to sport our unique Camdala design. Or perhaps knot? Then the Flow design based on the trusty figure-of-eight is for you. Both illustrated by the extremely talented Tessa Lyons. Find out the source of her inspiration below.

"I liked the idea of creating a design that didn't scream climbing but, upon closer inspection, was made almost entirely of climbing gear."

Celebrate climbing with our two subtle yet funky designs on a variety of tops. But what's in our exclusive new women's range?

Zip Hoodies

These heavyweight hoodies are made with organic cotton and zip at the front for easy self-regulation; perfect for days at the crag.

Lightweight Jumpers

This casual pullover comes in a lightweight tri-blend rib fabric with raglan sleeves, a wide-open neckline and a fitted waistband; ideal for layering or just wearing down the pub.

Organic Bamboo Tees

The fabric of these tees is super soft and is made from 30% organic cotton and 70% bamboo, combined with a raglan sleeve for a feminine cut; great for wearing over a vest.

Racerback Vests

Form and function combine splendidly in our racerback vests made with semi-fitted tri-blend fabric; wear on its own when you're getting active, or layer for a different look.

Order now to make sure you get your delivery in time for Christmas.

The new BMC women's clothing range by Tessa Lyons

"It was a real pleasure to collaborate with the BMC on these tops. Selfishly, I was also excited to be designing clothes that I would want to wear climbing myself," says Tessa Lyons, the artist behind our new clothing range.

"To start with, I asked around at the climbing wall and amongst my female climbing friends to see what they look for in a top (in terms of colour, cut and fabric) and then worked at coming up with a range that reflected their desires. I was pretty much given free-creative-rein to pick out colours and cuts as well as creating the design; it was a really exciting project to work on and an interesting context to fit my drawings into."

"Recently, I started climbing more trad, so I used this as my inspiration for the Camdala designs. I liked the idea of creating a design that didn't scream climbing but, upon closer inspection, was made almost entirely of climbing gear.

"Simplicity was key for the vest top design. I wanted to use something that was relevant to climbing but that had an almost feminine quality, which I feel that the figure of eight knot has; a kind of curving, flowing sort of shape."

Tessa is a climber and artist interested in the visual appeal of geology. Her work is about her love of being outside in beautiful, natural surroundings. See more of her art at: www.tessalyons.co.uk.

The Bothy Project

Meet Tessa in BMC TV's latest film that premiered at Kendal Mountain Festival 2016. This film takes four female artists and dispatches them to a remote Scottish bothy in the highlands of Scotland to untangle their need for outdoor space. Brought to you by the team that conjured up the award-winning BMC TV film Operation Moffat, this enchanting story takes you to explore the wilderness with filmmaker Jen Randall, wild-swimming-video-artist Natasha Brooks, acclaimed Sheffield artist Tessa Lyons, and poet Claire Carter.
