BMC National Council: November 2013 meeting

BMC HQ Manchester, venue for the November 2013 National Council.

The 37th meeting of the BMC National Council took place on Saturday 30 November 2013 at the BMC Office in Manchester. A summary of the meeting is available to download.

The meeting covered a range of topics including:

  • adoption of BMC Specialist Committee Terms of Reference;
  • BMC area reports;
  • BMC membership and finance;
  • nominations for new BMC Vice-Presidents;
  • the future viability of definitive guidebooks;
  • the improved world rankings of members or the GB Climbing Team; and
  • the launch of BMC TV and the BMC Ambassadors programme.

It would be nice to see these meetings being promoted and opened to a (non-speaking) public audience (BMC members only). My local council has no 'closed' meetings; they probably don't advertise the secret ones :-)
