The 41st meeting of the BMC National Council took place on Saturday 6 December 2014 at the BMC Office in Manchester. A summary of the meeting is available to download.
The meeting covered a range of topics including:

The review, agreement and adoption of Terms of Reference, membership and forward plans of all BMC Specialist Committees;

BMC area news and reports, including the appointment of hill walking reps for some areas, and the successful series of events held in 2014 to celebrate the BMC’s 70th year;
-
BMC finances for 2014 and the budget for 2015;
-
the nomination of Nick Kurth to take over from Mike Watson as BMC Vice-President in April 2015; and
-
a draft position statement on the use of pegs in British climbing.
The meeting also noted the important contribution of Henry Folkard following his retirement from the Land Management Group.
