The BMC Alps Meet finished today, the end of a two week meet in which over fifty BMC members climbed and walked in the Valais.
The weather was mixed for this year's meet, with snow falling down to 2000m during the second week. However, this did not stop people getting out into the mountains.
This was the third year that the BMC have ran an Alpine Meet and saw significantly more people coming along than on previous meets. As well as introductory and intermediate alpine mountaineering courses, an alpine walking course was run for the first time.
We'll be looking to run a meet next year, and full details will be posted on our site and in the winter edition of Summit magazine.
The BMC are grateful to the meet sponsors, ROOM with a VIEW camper hire and Sea France.
