Come and join us in Arolla for the third BMC Alpine Meet from 2 - 17 August 2008. Make new friends and improve those essential alpine skills.
Arolla is the location for the third BMC Alpine Meet, an opportunity for BMC members to go mountaineering, climbing and walking in some of Switzerland's most beautiful scenery.
With an array of beautiful peaks marking the head of the Val d'Herens, Arolla is a great location for both new and experienced alpinists. With a large network of well-maintained mountain paths, the Valais Alps are also justifiably popular with walkers including those following the Haute Route from Chamonix.
As in previous years, there will be a variety of skills courses delivered by Alpine Guides, and socials organised during the meet by BMC volunteer Rachael Hinchliffe. Rachael will be driving down in a camper van lent by meet sponsors Room With a View, and bringing with her a marquee, tables, chairs, a bar-b-q, maps and guidebooks. All in all the two week meet look set to be as successful as in previous years.
There is a photo gallery of last year's meet, which was based in the adjacent Saas valley. To get you in the mood, why not view the trailer for our Alpine Essentials DVD.
