Are you avalanche aware? Stack the odds in your favour by reading this new leaflet from the Sportscotland Avalanche Information Service. This essential reading outlines the decision-making process and fundamental considerations of assessing avalanche hazards.

The leaflet provides guidelines for walkers, skiers, snowboarders and climbers. The decsion making process outlined is recommended as the fundamental basis for avalanche hazard awareness and education.

The written advice, pictorial resources and explanations will help in making judgements on where and when to go in the winter mountains.

The leaflet's development was facilitated by (SAFOS) Snow and Avalanche Foundation of Scotland and has been funded by sportscotland.

The BMC was one of many organisations involved in the development the leaflet.
