The acclaimed Scottich Avalanche Report Service is now available by text!

The sportscotland Avalanche Information Service (SAIS) has been providing walkers, climbers, mountaineers and skiers with invaluable information for many years.

The SAIS forecasts are available on the internet and posted up in popular mountain areas. The new technological innovation, which has been announced today, allows the forecasts to be sent straight to your phone.

Winter Essentials, the BMC, MCofS and MLTE good practice DVD, includes a chapter on avalance awareness delivered by one of the SAIS forecasters.
