Originally set up in memory of well known Sheffield climber Alan Rouse, Sheffield Sports Library has since developed this into one of the best climbing and mountaineering libraries in the country.
The library includes Books, Journals, Climbing Guides and Expedition Reports.
The books cover all aspects of climbing & mountaineering around the world, and Climbing Guides cover both the UK & abroad. There is a good selection of current climbing magazines as well as many older journals. A catalogue listing all these can be downloaded from The Sports Library website.
The library also keeps copies of ‘Mount Everest Foundation’ Expedition Reports which are an invaluable source of information on previous Expeditions. There are almost 700 Reports which are added to annually. A catalogue of these can also be downloaded from the the Climbing & Mountaineering section of the website.
Reports can also be photocopied and posted for a small charge. You can also check out book titles using the online catalogue.
