The BMC is in the early stages of promoting an "Adopt A Crag" scheme in England & Wales. The aim of the scheme is to get clubs directly involved with the maintenance and upkeep of their nearest and dearest climbing area. Often, it is not the crag that needs work, but the area around it.
A recent issue of the seminal Buxton Advertiser contained an excellent summary of the cooperation between the Peak based Mynydd CC and the BMC. The aim of the day was to clean up "The Best Urban Crag in the World", whilst stopping at appropriate moments for tea and cake.
As the article says, 35 bags of rubbish and a whole bunch of other detritus was recovered by the club.
Event organisation by Chris Moore of the Mynydd, wellies by Asda, rubbish by Local Youths and crumpet by the BMC.
If you think your club could get involved, then get in touch.
